Before I started Citizen Couture, I wanted to incorporate an idea where I would feature people for an “In The Spotlight” profile shoot. This would allow me to collaborate with the subject for a fun, thought-out, and intimate shoot rather than a quick 2-minute snap on the street. Think of it as The Selby meets The Sartorialist, where the possibilities can take from the subject’s apartment to the exploration of hidden streets and gems in New York City.

My friend, Denmark, asked me if I could help him take photos for his website so we decided to stroll around Tribeca and West Village to capture some of the city’s atmosphere. When we finished our shoot, I realized that some of the photos came out pretty well and I decided to use it as my first “In The Spotlight” post. This idea is still a work in progress with hopes of collaborating with many people, including fashion bloggers, so please let me know what you think!

I like this idea. It’s interesting to see the subject photographed in different locations. I especially like the suit/graffiti combination.

It’s great to see him in so many different settings. For some reason this makes the picture, and Denmark, more real. I’m digging the graffiti one and the one of him at home.

    Hi
sorry in advance for the mistakes, but I am french)
I have just found your blog while browsing on the Internet and I have to tell you my congratulations. I like enjoy it!
The thing is that there is actually a real connection with people, it’s not only pictures after pictures of people in the street. They are actually looking at the camera, and we can see them from different side.
Your blog it’s so different from the others.
    Again congratulations!
Kiss from Paris (really hot in here at the moment and people can’t stand hot like they can’t stand cold…)
