SUMMER EVENINGS

SUMMER EVENINGS | Citizen Couture

There are those summer evenings where after a long day the skies are filled with the fierce colors of red and orange as the sun slowly sets. I’d find myself either sitting out at a park, a café, or in my apartment gazing out the window while my mind and body are immersed in another world. It’s a calm surrounding that can be perfected with a touch of Stacey Kent playing in the background, and perhaps with a glass of wine.

I took this photo of my roommate a year ago in our apartment on a sweltering summer evening. The sun would set perfectly at our kitchen window, filling the room beautifully with a dramatic light. This is definitely another one of my favorite photos that I have taken, and although it does not relate to fashion, I hope this photo draws a feeling of inspiration, reminiscence, or comfort.

    Glorious NY!

This photo amidst its architectural skyline and splendor some how sums up why in my mind NY city and Manhattan in particular is one of the greatest feats of human endeavor in terms of planning a city to convey richness and the subliminal power that is architecture!

Beauty longing for the beast which is NY below……..

Amazing view!! This shot perfectly captures the moment and I totally get what you were saying about the setting sun’s shadows in the room.

Tell me, what is the key to a successful blog (i.e. many readers and followers)? I can’t seem to get anyone to read mine!

What a great snapshot of your roommate.

Pictures and words are what I love most about people’s blog and I really enjoyed reading your writing. I feel inspired to spend an evening at a cafe just watching the sunset. I usually glaze out the window during those odd evenings when the sky is a pretty hue of pink, red, and yellow. It’s absolutely breathtaking when you take the time to admire it.

I love the view of New York City. Never been but I dream about it all the time.

    All the best,
    Carrie

Wow, what an incredible photo. There is something so nostalgic and almost melancholy about watching a city from a high apartment like this and you captured the feeling beautifully. :)
