Can you believe this was NYC just two months ago? This snapshot was taken a day before NY Fashion Week Fall 2010, where the city was generously dumped with a foot of snow. I walked around a park nearby my apartment and captured the snow-covered benches just as a random person walked perfectly into my frame. I found myself in a peaceful state when I scavenged around my neighborhood while the streets were quiet and empty, with only the wind whistling and the soft crunch that my boots made with each step. I felt time slowing down for a few seconds and it reminded me of the simplicities that life offers, such as how a cup of hot coffee felt heavenly in my hands on a cold day and the first sip just warms my heart. It’s really important for me to frequently remind myself this because living in a city such as NYC can be such as rush where losing track of time is extremely easy. However, like most people, I have a love and hate relationship with the city that I grew up in and I can’t imagine myself anywhere else.
